The Harbour Area Treatment Scheme is a major Government initiative to improve water quality in Victoria Harbour.

Cleaner Air
Compared with 1999, the number of exceedances of the Air Pollution Index dropped by 22% in 2003.Concentrations of particulates and nitrogen oxides at urban roadside have reduced by 13% and 23% respectively. The number of smoky vehicles has reduced by over 70%.
